I'm a junior in college and have two weeks left of this semester. I planned to begin/make decent progress on my 7-10 pg paper due this Tuesday over spring break, but instead I ended up running a million errands. Last weekend I had friends in town and they left early Sunday afternoon. Monday afternoon I get a call from my step-MIL saying that they'd be in town the next evening and "hope that's okay." I absolutely did not have a problem with this, but there was no warning. My house wasn't a complete disaster, but it wasn't up to my standards. They left Friday morning.
Saturday I needed to blow off some steam. I have the regular load of homework, a paper, and two powerpoint presentations and have been tearing my hair out so I said "Eff it" and went to the river with the kayak for 2 hours.
DH promised to watch LO all day and let me hole up in the office to crank out this paper. He did his best but LO has a tooth erupting and turned into super clingy cranky pants. She didn't want dad, only mom. The only time she was happy was when she was attached to my boob. It had to be the right boob because she fussed and fussed at the left, and we had to be lying on the bed or Miss Fussypants would be upset. I didn't even shower yesterday.
I managed to get 4 complete pages done. I can totally do this right? You know, if I get off The Bump.
There's a lesson about procrastination somewhere in all of this...
Re: Procrastination
What's your major?
Ughh those were the worst! I can't imagine having to do that with an infant . Good luck mama! And totally doable. I worked best under pressure when I was in school.
