I confess I do judge 2nd baby showers

A friend of mine is pregnant with her 2nd child. Her first is a girl 3 months younger than DD (2.5ish) and she's pregnant with her 2nd, a boy.

She is having a full blown shower, I got the invite through facebook, and its complete with a registry. Registry items include a double stroller and a brand new crib set even though she posted pictures like 2 weeks ago of the babies nursery completely set up.

I don't know why but it rubs me the wrong way.

The best part of all even if I don't go H will have to set up and clean up from this party. She's having at the fire hall that H is a member and janitor for.

I know I'm in the minority but I see nothing wrong with it. Here, we throw showers for every single baby. If someone doesn't agree, they have two options. Either don't come or come and don't buy anything. We don't throw showers here as a gift grabby event

The only time it seems reasonable is if A) The second baby is very far apart from the first- like 5 years or more. The second pregnancy is multiples, so they'll need more than one set of everything.

Otherwise, yeah not really necessary.
