Hello ladies! Glad to meet ya and now I'm not the ONLY pregnant lady past 35 that I 'know' lol.
My dh and I have five amazing kids ages 20, 16, 15, 12 and 9, and we are so thrilled to be expecting #6 in December! It's like we're having another generation, hence my screen name. I'm 41 (42 next month) and we started TTC in Jan and got BFP in March. So far, all is well, although of course I'll breathe easier after 12 weeks.
I go to hear the heartbeat early May. I am declining genetic testing so no NT scan, it'll be Doppler, can't wait! I already had my first appt with a midwife practice and am planning a homebirth (I had one with #4). Midwife did not flinch at my age at all. I'm blessed to be in really good health, without any particular middle-age issues.
We've told our kids, our parents, a few trusted ladies at church and one close friend of mine at my job. That's it until 12 weeks. Everyone at least ACTED happy except for my own mom...that hurt. But this is what we wanted and we're happy for one 'last chance' . I work full time and will continue to do so-I was a SAHM for some year and it was great but I've got a kid in college and more coming up, but we'll make it work, we always do!
Oh, I'm completely exhausted! LOL of course, but actually my nausea has not been completely overwhelming which is good. Glad to be here to talk with other ladies like myself-since I know NO ONE in real life pregnant at my age, and in fact dh's bro became a grandfather this year and two friends of ours will be this year also...hahaha... i made a cute ticker but my pregnant brain cant figure out how to get it here oh well
Re: Intro and happy to meet you all!
