On Thursday husband and I drove past this sight! Two 13-15 year old boys standing on opposite street corners in neon green tee shirts and signs that each read "I snuck out to my house to get high! Then I pooped on my neighbors porch because I thought it was funny! Not so funny now!" And their mother was sitting 10 feet behind them in a lawn chair and her sign read "seriously p*ssed off mamma!'" The intersection they were sitting at was a busy one, and it easy hour. And it got a ton of attention locally! When we first read the sign both husband and I thought it said they "popped prescription pills" not "pooped on neighbors porch" with that being said initially I thought it was a great idea, now I've changed my mind. While I did get a chuckle out of that, I think there are better ways to discipline children besides humiliation.

Wow, I would think their time would be put to better use if they had to complete community service of some sort. Who knows though, maybe the mom knows what works best for her son.

I actually love this. Nothing is a worse punishment than embarrassment at that age. I sure as heck would learn my lesson if I did something that stupid and got caught. At that age its all about your "reputation" and how "cool" you are.

I read this to H and his response was :They get the choice of public humiliation or I beat their a$$, my dad would never have put up with that.

I guess it depends on what the parents have already tried and what these particular kids respond to. In this case, I know I would definitely have them go over and clean up their own poop, apologize to the neighbors, and they would be cleaning the bathr

People need to be accountable for their actions. My guess is that I'd this mom was passionate enough to teach her kids some responsibility in this way, that she likely cared enough to try some other means for previous things they may have gone.

Think about everything that had to happen for those kids to be on the corner with signs. They had to get caught, so adults were there to hold these kids accountable. Mom had to say "here's your sign, let's go" to which the kids said "yes ma'am
