Sleep Schedule Help!

Has anyone tried the "Sleepeasysolution?" I have a 4 1/2 month old and we have been very lucky! She has slept all night since six weeks old but I'd like to tweak her schedule a little bit. I would like to get her napping on a schedule in her crib. Currently, she is sleeping at night in her crib but napping in the swing during the day. I suppose this is a mistake I made very early on when she was first born. I would let her take her naps there during the day. And now, I try to get her to nap in her crib but it doesn't last long. If she naps in her swing, she will take a good 1 1/2 - 2 hour nap most days about 2 hours after she wakes up and a couple more catnaps during the day. Usually one in the afternoon and one in the evening. But if I put her in her crib, she only naps for about 20 - 30 minutes. She is breastfed and at night to get her to go to sleep I rock her and feed her with the lights off and her sound machine playing. She usually dozes off while feeding and then I lay her down in her crib. She usually stays asleep but if she doesn't, we let her cry for about 5-10 minutes depending on if it's a hard cry or just a little fuss. Sometimes she will go back to sleep on her own. I've been spoiled with her sleeping all night and don't want to do anything to mess that up but I would like to be able to put her down in her crib while she's still awake and let her fall asleep to take her naps and to go to sleep at night. I've tried doing the same nighttime routine during the day for her naps but that hasn't worked. Is she at the right age for this kind of schedule I would like her to have?

Re: Sleep Schedule Help!

  • She may not be ready yet. Remember, she's still very very young in the grand scheme of things. DS is going on 5 months and isn't fully STTN yet, but I know he will when he's ready. Letting her nap in the swing didn't ruin her, so get that thought out of y

  • If might not fully work but it could work a majority of the time.  The only reason my DD doesn't STTN, is b/s docs said we need to wake her up for a feeding to get extra calories in her.  She sleeps in the bassinet in our room at night but usual
  • I have read online that putting the swing beside the crib for naps and slowly turning down the speed until she's used to sleeping without movement and then transferring her to the crib helps.
  • Oh my goodness I could have written this story myself. I need help with the same thing! Nighttime is no issue, just naps. She will never nap on her own. I either have to feed her to get her to sleep for naps or rock her (when I rock and do no feeding she
