Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Advice Please!

Hi Mommies! My LO is almost 6 months and we're about to start trying to sleep training him. Everything I have read about it all seems to include having a 'routine' at bedtime. But I work full time as does my DH, so he spends a fair amount of time at a babysitters who also vary as well, depending which family member or friend is available. My schedule is 'shift work' so the times always vary. I'm looking for any advice on how to try to establish somewhat of a routine when each night could potentially be in a different setting. We are also trying to do a double whammy and transition from RNP to crib but clearly his crib can't follow him to the babysitters. Help!

  • Whatever routine you establish, write it down (with times) and give it to anyone/everyone who could potentially be caring for LO. We started a routine about 1 month ago and LO has done very well on it. Do the sitters have something else that he could slee

  • If it could be in different settings I would make it as simple as possible!! Ours is, diaper, swaddle (arms out), lights down, feed, bed. Its always been this, simple and anyone can do it.:)

  • We do similar, very easy. bed time is about 7ish, but sometimes she goes down early or a little late, just depends on how naps went. We've been on a loose schedule since 3mths. We started by recording the times baby slept on her own for about a week, and
  • That makes me feel so relieved! I wanted to go into this with a positive attitude, I was just soo concerned with the babysitting side of it. These are all great ideas! I just hope it goes smoothly! LOL
