Pump into freezable bags?

Does anyone know if there's a breast pump that puts milk directly into freezable bags? The bags that you can attach onto a bottle? I've googled it but didn't get too far.

  • I'm pretty sure there is but I don't remember who makes them or any details. It's really not a mess to move it though, and you could try a funnel. Lol sorry not much help at all.

You can do this with Medela pumps, it's the pump and save storage bags.

  • Sorry that link is just obnoxiously long. I can't make a clicky using Safari. Just type in Medela Pump and Save Storage bags into your search engine.

  • Medela makes them.  I've used them and didn't like them.  They cost twice as much as other bags and the seams tended to split in the freezer.  All bags will get holes in them on occasion, but it was more frequent with medela.  It's a n

  • Are you asking about just freezer bags or freezer bags that can double as a bottle liner? I liked the Lansinoh storage bags the best, over Medela, for freezing my milk. They were a little cheaper but the quality was still good. A friend also told me that

  • I never needed a funnel, I just poured from the bottle into the bag.  I ended up using up and up (target brand) in the end.   They are basically knock off Lansinhoh (sp?).

  • I found that the Medea bags would at times leak when attached to the pump, and the seam break. I used lanisoh bags to freeze my milk. I pumped into cheap bottles from wal mart, this allowed me to measure accurately and label the bags with the amount. My h

  • Another thought on the funnel issue. While I really don't see a funnel being needed, if you did feel like you needed one you could always just use the flange as a funnel, it will just have BM on it.  As far as sterilizing, I was always told it wasn't

  • Also, I pretty much always pumped into bottles and then poured it into the bags.  It is pretty precarious to pump into the bags directly.

  • Thanks so much for all the info ladies! Lots to think about.
  • Another vote for pumping into bottles and transferring.  I froze in exact amounts to avoid throwing away milk (frozen is only good for 24hrs in fridge and one hour out after feeding...small window when feeding a sleepy baby or a semi distracted 10 mo
