Natural gas cars

Any one have one or owned one? DH is thinking of getting one instead of a regular hybrid because he wants the license plate. Any drawbacks?
Apparently natural gas is cheaper and we have a station about 2 miles from our house so he's almost positive he wants one but nobody in real life do we know has one to ask.

    Hmm, our public buses use natural gas too, but definitely not the public gas stations.  They use special tanks because they have to buy their gas up front at special rates so they can pad themselves against ups and downs of the market.  DH is in
