I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant. I got pregnant only after I had been off the pill for 10 days. I started bleeding about a week ago. First it was enough to fill up a pantyliner. I called my dr. and she told me to get my blood work done right away. My levels came back normal except my progesterone level was low (due to getting pregnant so soon after coming off the pill). I got more blood work done and my progesterone levels were now normal. Then I had more bleeding that filled up a bigger pad with some clotting. I called the dr. again and I got an ultrasound done the next day and all was normal (Thank God) However that was on Thursday and I started bleeding (lightly) Saturday evening and all night into Sunday. It was nothing crazy, just light bleeding. It stopped for a few hours and started up again. I read online that this can happen and it doesn't mean miscarriage. Some women have bleeding with clotting and continued to have normal pregnancies. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I go for my actual dr. appointment on Friday but I want to remain calm and stress free for the baby. I haven't experienced any cramping or pain at all which makes me feel a little better. Just looking for reassurance

Sorry for the novel! Thanks!
Re: Bleeding during pregnancy
Sounds like it may be a subchorionic hematoma. Did they look for that? My sister and several of my friends had it. I would take it easy if you can.

I've had bleeding too- one day so heavy with bright red blood that I had to eat a steak for dinner to feel back to normal (ok, maybe low iron was just my excuse to eat the steak...ha)! With my bleeding, it always corresponds with a bowel movement (sorry, gross, I know) because apparently I have a very vascular cervix and the pushing, especially when a bit constipated (thanks pregnancy), causes the blood vessels near the surfase to pop and bleed. Since there is more blood flow to that region when pregnant, the chance of this happening is even greater. This happened even before pregnancy too and I used to get my cervix cauterized to help, but haven't in a while. All this to say, remember that some bleeding has nothing to do with your pregnancy and as long as you don't have cramping or are passing lumps of tissue, you are probably ok. Never hurts to see the doctor though!
