Fever and congestion...what to do!?

Looking for advice from moms who have dealt with this. My 3 year old DS doesn't really get sick but this morning he woke up with a 101.5 fever and cough. He sounds congested when he breathes. He is drinking fine. Now he's napping and while he sleeps, he is making little jerking movements. I haven't dealt with this so I don't know if it's normal or not. Our doctor's office opens soon, so I am probably going to give them a call since they aren't open tomorrow.... But looking for some advice in the meantime. Thank you.

With the jerky movements if it was every now and then I probably wouldn't worry. But go ahead and call for peace of mind. For the fever just give him ibuprofen and generally keep him cool. For coughing at his age all you can really do is

Fyi. Fevers aren't necessarily bad, as scary as they can be. They are your bodies mechanism for fighting of sickness.

I am generally not a worrier but the chest sound scared me. The doctor said no worries, it's just a cold. I won't give anything for the fever unless it goes over 102. Thanks for the advice!
