Our First Real Injury

Well, the day has come. My fearless boy finally really hurt himself. We've had lots of trips, slips, and falls with plenty of bumps and bruises to show for them.

But today, while walking between the coffee table and TV stand, he went face first into a shelf and cut straight across between his nostrils, right where his nose meets his upper lip. OUCH! I can only imagine how bad it hurt! After I got the bleeding stop I nursed him, he cried for about 10 minutes total and then we had a quiet bath together so I could get him cleaned up.

DH is at work and I called in a panic right after it happened thinking I was going to rush DS to Urgent Care. I'm glad he didn't answer that call because it stopped bleeding fairly quickly and it will be fine.

But the poor guy! I feel bad! Although it wasn't bad enough to stop him from walking. He took another few steps in the bathroom and in the tub. He's much more resilient than I think, sometimes!

    Oh no! I'm so scared of this even though I know it's inevitable. DD fell back and hit her head on the floor for the first time today. I don't know how I will get through this phase. I'm glad he is okay.
