Does anyone have any stories to share about being induced for their VBAC? I've been reading up on it and that it can be risky. I talked to my Dr last week briefly about it & he said he wouldn't want to induce a VBAC. I'm worried that if I do choose to do a VBAC, what if I don't go into labor, or what if my labor isn't progressing? Isn't it worse if your labor doesn't progress and then I would end up with an emergency c/s anyways (vs. just scheduling it)?
With DS I went into labor the night before my c/s was scheduled (he was breech) - that was at about 41 weeks. I know my contractions were about 4 min apart, hurt like hell but I don't think I was really dilating.. not that this is any indication how it could go this time but who knows....
Re: VBAC Induction?
Don't doubt yourself. Labors always progress. Using drugs to speed things up is a hospital's way of getting you out sooner and has nothing to do with whether you or baby will be okay
I had pit with my VBAC. My hospital had a strict 41 week limit for VBACers so at that point my option was to schedule surgery or induce. My CNM was awesome and knew that I wanted to avoid unnecessary surgery.
My induction took
I was told that I was allowed to be induced as long as I had some progress.
