Mobile title: Is the freestyle worth the extra $$?
So we are buying a new pump this time because with Reese I used my sister's 8 year old Medela Pump In Style Advanced. I really only had to pump once a day so I didn't need anything great, but even though it was a nice pump I had a really hard time ever getting more than 2 ounces total from pumping.
I am hoping a new pump this time around will help. I tried all different size flanges last time, breast compressions, looking at a picture of LO, etc, and could never really let down that much milk.
(The most milk I EVER got was when I was pumping while watching her be fed a bottle of milk by DH - then my boob got the memo and I got 4 ounces).
Anyway, this time around I will have to pump probably twice a day so I am super nervous about losing my supply and want to have a good pump, but I'm not sure if the Freestyle is worth the extra money over the other models.
Thoughts? TIA!

If the PISA didn't work well for you I kind of don't think the freestyle will be better.
Maybe you could look into the Ameda Purely Yours? Or even renting a
I think the ease of the Freestyle was totally worth the extra money. It's very portable (like you can toss it in your purse because it's so small), battery powered, and the parts are much more durable (none of those tiny white membrane pieces!)&n
I really loved my freestyle though I did buy a separate pumping bra b/c I hated the contraption it came with. Did you try new sets of parts with the last pump? Worn out parts, particularly the membrane, can decrease performance a lot.
<pI can't compare to the freestyle, because I never had one, but if you get the PISA or any other regular pump, you can get a hands-free bra like this.
Do you drive or take public transportation?
I took my regular PISA back and forth five days a week for almost a year, and it really wasn't a big problem, but I drive. If I was taking public transportation or doing a large amount of walking, I can
