S hasn't been asking to or showing interest in using the potty much lately, so I was excited when he wanted to try the big potty last night before bath. After he went successfully, DH and I praised him. I wanted to make a big deal, since we've been slow on the pt-ing front, so I bragged about him to his teddy bear, Baxter. I even brought Baxter into the bathroom and I clapped his paws for LO. S was totally excited and smiled a lot.
So tonight, when LO used the potty again successfully, I said "Baxter is going to be so proud of you!" S smiled, and then immediately got up from the potty, ran naked into his bedroom to tell Baxter, who again clapped for him.
Making Baxter the bear the PTing praiser was either the most brilliant or the most flawed idea ever. I have a feeling that making Baxter clap and dance may get really old if it takes a long time to potty train!
