Whooping cough shot?

Last time I had a baby I had the shot given to me in the hospital after the baby was born.
My OB told me this time they want to give it to me during my third trimester so some of the antibodies are passes into the baby. Has anyone else heard of this? I'm not sure I'm comfortable with it but my OB said that if I don't then the baby has no protection until it gets the shot at six weeks.

Anyone else?

Re: Whooping cough shot?

  • I got mine at my last appointment. My Dr said they are starting to give them to all women in their 3rd trimester. She also told me that any family members who would be around the baby a lot need to get it too.
