Anyone else still using bottles?

DS is 13 months (3/3/12).  When we went to his 1 year appt. pedi didn't seem concerned about weaning him off the bottle.  He said it's not a big deal until they are 2.  He drinks about 24 oz. of WCM a day 1 (8oz.) first thing in the morning, 1 (8oz.) around 1pm and 1 (8oz.) before bed.  He eats 3 meals a day and is a good eater.  He's STTN.  He's in the 98% for weight/height.

So should I be getting rid of the bottles or is it really not a big deal?  Also, he loves to drink water out of his sippy cup.  I've tried milk in it and it's NBD but he doesn't drink as much milk out of the sippy.

We are still using them...DS gets 3  5 oz bottles a day, but also drinks a couple of ounces of WCM from a regular straw in a take n toss cup and water from a take n toss sippy.   He doesn't fall asleep with it and I make sure I brush his teeth a

  • Yup. So not stressing about this. He has been dropping bottles on his own so we are just going with the flow.

  • DS gets 1 - 8 oz bottle before bed.  I make sure to brush his teeth right after.  Not so worried about dropping it.  He has his 15 month appt next month & I will see what the dr says.  Id like to keep it for a few months....it make

  • We still use bottles at nap time and bed time. I talked with our ped about it, and she said it wasn't a big deal right now, that weaning at this point is more personal preference.

She told me that we'd talk more seriously about it at Aria's

  • My doc didn't even bring it up. Gabe kind of quit on his own. Maybe wait and see what happens. I wouldn't worry too much. Maybe aim for 2 like others. I think it's a personal preference of what is working for you guys.

  • DD still gets a bottle every night at bedtime. She won't drink milk from her cup. Our ped. didn't say anything about it so I'm not worried...I think the weaning will happen when it's time.

  • Our pedi said we could get rid of them at our 12 month appointment.  Since we had already introduced the sippy and he was drinking well from it, we just went cold turkey.  He still drinks a decent amount of milk a day (I don't really measure

  • Not worrying about it too much yet.

She has... maybe 3 bottles a day, 6 oz. when she wakes up in the morning, 4 oz when she gets home from daycare, and 8 oz. just before bed. Morning it's formula (just because we still have some left and it
