Today was a "no nap" day. Sigh... He fell asleep in the car on the way home, and then didn't stay asleep like he usually does when I moved him in to his crib.
I was wondering if anyone has anything they do differently on "no nap" days to help LO wind down more easily at bedtime. Do you just follow your normal routine? Do you start earlier? Do you add/change anything?
The only thing I've done up until now is just talk myself through the evening and remind myself that he didn't nap and he's overtired. In other words, I try to make sure that I stay calm since chances are that HE won't be calm.
Re: "no nap" days
If I had any plans for an elaborate dinner (elaborate meaning it takes 30 mins to prep or cook), I scrap them. On those days, when she is hungry, there is no waiting patiently for mommy to make dinner.
Oh, and the TV is our friend on no nap
::shudders at the thought of no nap days::
I remember hitting a few of those with DD1. It was rough. Videos of animals and babies were my best friend then. And snacks.
