Burping / spit up

So after most feedings I try to burp my little guy but nothing ever becomes of it. Sometimes I put him in his vibrating swing and he has spit up all over himself. This seems to be the only way he spits up.

Do you have any tricks for getting them to spit up or just burp? I currently pat him on the back for a few minutes.

    Burp after every few minutes. They're harder to come out after a bunch of milk or formula is on top of the gas. I also keep baby up on my shoulder for a while. If he scrunches down, he's more likely to spit up. You could try gas drops or maybe grip wa

    You kind of made it sound like you want him to spit up. That confused me. But sometimes they may not burp right away.

    I have to give my DS gas drops sometimes. And I've noticed it helps him burp better.

    I don't pat; I rub her lower back really hard. She burps easily.

    I'm a rebel and put baby on my shoulder to burp him. Sometimes I'll either alternate or combine patting with bouncing if I know he's got some burps to let out, but they're being stubborn.

    it takes my little guy almost 10 minutes sometimes before I can get him to burp if I don't stop him about every ounce of the bottle to burp! Also with mine I have found that rubbing his back rather than patting tends to work better for him... once I start
