Cloth Diapering

are you an all or nothing family?

We cloth during the day, but we had such a horrible time with leaks at night that we use overnight diapers for that and nap-time.

We decided this was best for us, what about your family?

(three FLIP stay dry inserts and a hemp doublers still left us with the occasional leak)

  • We CD unless we are on a vacation without washing machines. The few times we use disposables, she always leaks overnight.

  • We CD during the day and use a disposable at night until we run out of what we were given.
  • We use cloth 24/7, vacations included.

DD has worn a disposable swim diaper once when we were at a friend's house and I couldn't find her swim diaper.

The last time she wore sposies before that wa

  • We CD during the day and use a sposie at night. No matter what cloth combination we put him in, he always woke up with his PJs wet from leaks. He is a ridiculous heavy wetter and sleeps 12 hours at night and the sposie can handle that.

  • I used disposables with DD1 and DD2. DD3 was in them at the hospital and maybe the first day home. She's been in cloth since then. We also do cloth at night with DD2. We fully intend to use disposables for vacations.

  • We're disposable at DC and cloth at home. I change LO into a cloth diaper when I pick him up so that we never have to throw away a disposable at home.

Long trips where we won't have access to a washer, we use disposable, shorter trips we'll try

  • DD is in cloth all of the time except the day she is in Daycare and when she has a horrible rash.

It took us awhile to find something that would work for nap and bedtime, but we eventually did.

  • Haven't travelled yet (a few small trips planned in coming months and plan to use cloth), so far we use cloth except the last few days she is in sposies round the clock because of a bad open wound rash.  The doctor wanted her on a 40%zinc Desitin.

  • We CD 24/7.  I plan on doing it on vacation this summer because we will have access to a washing machine.

  • We started out in disposables for the first 2 months.  I moved to cloth diapering during the day only.

Then about 2 months ago we started overnight.

  • We use cloth unless we're travelling. Then we buy a pack of disposables. For me, it's not a vacation if I have to worry about what to do with the diapers and how I'm going to wash them. <img src="https://community.thebump.com/cs/emoticons/emotion-5.gif" al
  • DS is in a daycare that doesn't accommodate CDs, so as much as we'd love to ditch the cost of disposables altogether we only CD at home. We will sometimes use disposables when DS has diarrhea since they allow me to really slather on the Triple Paste, but

  • We use cloth 24/7. I have a collection of flats that I use if we are traveling where we may not be able to use someone's washer. They won't get messed up from using laundromat. I've hand washed before, and while it's not my preferred vacation method, i

  • We pretty much only travel to visit family, so we can use their machines.  I'm undecided about what we will do this summer when we have to go to another province for me to finish my courses.  It kills me to spend all of that money on disposables

  • Depends. If I'm traveling to someone's house for the first time, I do ask if it's okay to use their washer/dryer first. If not, I use disposables and pray hard that there are no messes, because I've yet to find a disposable that holds her poop. Otherwise,
