Two Under 2

Intro and ?

DD is 7 months old, and I just found out I'm KU again- not planned, not expected and quite the shock.  I usually hang out on the Sept'12 board, but I'm looking forward to getting some support/encouragement/feel-goodiness here too.

And my question:  what are the rules for breastfeeding while pregnant?  I know it causes contractions, but I don't think they know if the contractions contribute to earlier labor, is that right?  I'll ask my Dr. about it, but I'm still waiting for my first prenatal appt, so I thought I'd ask your experiences/advice.  Has anyone done it and had supply problems?  No supply problems?  I don't want to tandem nurse, but my goal was always to nurse DD up to the one year mark.

TIA for your help!

  • Congrats! I feel like it took me a little while with this second pregnancy to wrap my head around it, but now I am really excited to meet my second! Even though you don't want to tandem nurse I would recommend looking at the book Adventures in Tandem N

  • Oh that's good! My kiddos weren't super great eaters at first. I always nursed an hour or so before offering solids. LO fills up on BM and then eats as much solids as wanted. I wouldn't replace any nursings with solids. I would also talk to your LO'
