Healing after C-section??

I am just curious how long it usually takes to start feeling better and in less pain after a c-section?  I had an emergency c-section March 29th.  I did not listen to the doctor and take it easy  like I am supposed to.  I ended up causing part of my incision to swell and turn red.  Went to doc and had the start of an infection.  Been on antibioics for it since Monday.  Also had to get more pain meds as I am still having alot of pain. Feels like a burning stabbing pain in my lower abdomen.  So I am just curious how long it took others to heal or if anyone else has had something like this happen.  How much pain is normal still after almost 2 weeks??  I plan to call my doctors office tomorrow if my incision isn't looking better and if I am still having pain.

    It is 5 weeks and I still have a "sun burn" like feeling above my incision below my belly button and when I do more than a 30 min walk after a day with the baby I am in some pain.  So I would say still not 100%

    I had constant pain with lessening intensity for about 3 weeks. Around then it went from constant pain to pain just when I overdid it, walking too long, too much house work, etc. Now at almost 6 weeks, I still have that sunburn feeling below my belly butt

    I felt better around two weeks and didn't need the pain medication anymore as long as l wasn't doing too much. By four weeks I could go on walks and feel fine but still couldn't lift without pain. I started carrying his carseat w him in at five weeks with

    19 days passed my emergency csection... I felt awful the first 1.5 weeks. My back.started hurting more than anything... I think it was because I was overcompensating for my sore abdomen when I would get up from things. I stopped taking my pain meds 7 days

    Thanks ladies. I know a lot of my pain is my fault for overdoing it right off the bat. But I'm to the point where I'm living in the mesh undies I got from the hospital and a night gown because anything else that rubs against that area hurts! Hurts to w

    I had an emergency CS March 11 (monday) and was off my pain meds by that Thursday - I am almost 5 weeks out and have had no problems except the tingle feeling around my incision.
