Advantages to daycare?

Hi ladies. I'm a WAHM and I'm struggling. DH travels Monday - Friday and sometimes Saturday. To make ends meet, I MUST work 20-25 hrs per week but 30 or more is preferable. Right now, I'm taking care of DS and working during naps (he's a 30 min cat napper so that isn't easy) and waking up at 5 am and staying up past his bedtime to try and squeeze in what I can. When DH is home, I try and have him watch him for a few hours on the weekend. I'm feeling completely overwhelmed and DH and I have absolutely no time for each other. I looked into a daycare center across the street and am thinking of enrolling DS two full days a week. I think just being able to concentrate for two full days would alleviate a lot of stress and let me actually get some sleep at night and allow some weekend hours for family time versus always trying to work when I'm not with DS. Sorry to ramble. For all you ladies with babies in daycare, what are your likes and dislikes? Advantages? Disadvantages? TIA for your opinions.

  • It sounds like two days a week at daycare will not only provide him with some social interaction, our LO absolutely loves being around other kids, but could also save your marriage and sanity. Go for it. Only downside would be if the extra cost adds more

  • This is our situation. DH works from home and and I work out of the home. The original plan was for DD to be home with him, but when we realized that she was a catnapper, we figured that wouldn't work. So we put her in daycare for 2 days a week, like you
