Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Bottles - Should I switch?

Hello all! I have an 8.5 month old who I breast fed until 6 months. She took the medela bottles (ones used with the pump) really well when we started introducing bottles and I am actually still using them now. She hasn't been taking her bottle as well (she has an ear infection) but I'm wondering if it could be the bottle causing the issue as well. I did try Dr Browns at one point and they didnt' seem to work well. I'm wondering if it is worth trying something new and if so, what should I try?

This is my first so I really don't know what to do...

Thanks so much for any insight/advice!

Re: Bottles - Should I switch?

  • My little one went through a phase for about a month where he just decided to refuse his bottle.  I think he was too distracted looking around.  Eventually he came around and now he eats like a champ!

    Good luck!

  • Every baby has their preference.  I'd tell you to switch if LO had a problem w/ gas or reflux but if LO doesn't then don't worry about it.  FWIW, we use the Playtex Ventaire bottles and LOVE them! My LO has reflux and they work great!

  • I use tommy tippee. They are great. It is said babies take to them because it resembles a breast and a nipple the closest. Get the 9 oz ones if you try them.
