has anyone ever heard of this method?!  Im not convinced there is any real science behind it, but thought I would share anyhow

  • I've heard of it before. There's some legit reasoning behind it.

    I've also had a friend encapsulate her placenta and felt that it was helpful. She plans on doing it again for this pregnancy. &nbs

  • When I was pregnant with DD, the lotus births were a hot topic of debate. One of the ladies was planning on doing one, but she never posted after she delivered.

  • I am all for delayed cord cutting but, I would never do that.
  • I plan to delay cord cutting until the blood stops pumping if possible. But after that stops what would be the point? And on top of that carrying around the placenta in a jar!?! Gross

    Yeah, won't be doing that. I'm fine with my placenta and cord going to some medical disposal system. I imagine its like a garbage disposal for organs? Yummy.

  • I've heard of "delayed" cord cutting but not of leaving it on until it falls off itself. I can't see this smelling good.
