RIP - Robert Edwards

Just taking a moment to remember Dr. Robert Edwards - one of the 2 scientists who pioneered IVF - who died yesterday.  Without his (and his colleague's) vision and steadfastness, despite opposition and lack of funding, I may not be holding M in my arms today.

TTC since 10/2008  RE consult 6/2010 Dx:Unexplaied IF

Failed multiple cycles of Clomid+TI and Clomid+IUI

3/2011 inj+IUI #1 BFP. 4/2011 missed m/c. 

Fall 2011 inj+IUI #2&3 BFN

Jan/Feb 2012 IVF#1 BFP 2/23  EDD 10/31/2012 ~~~ Halloween ~~~

Our IVF miracle, Baby Boy M, arrived on 11/8/2012!

    DX: Unexplained IF
    Many IUI's with various meds all BFFN
    IVF #1 11/11 canceled due to OHSS
    IVF #2 Feb/March 2012 ET of 2 on day 3 4/7 BFP! 5/1 u/s blighted ovum
    IVF #3 July 2012 ET of 3 on day 3 7/24 BFP!
    Healthy baby girl born at 36w4d on 3/9/13

    IVF #5 June 2018- PGS planned, no surviving embryos

    That last line in the article makes me tear up. I'm so thankful they kept at it and finally figured out what worked.

    Thanks for sharing, I heard about his death yesterday but couldn't find a good article.

    I am forever grateful. I don't even want to try to imagine what my life would be like without his hard work and dedication. RIP.

    Unexplained Infertility

    After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
