Potentially stupid question... *MCs mentioned*

So with my last mc I had a D&C.  I was told no baths, nothing in the vajay, no stimulation for 3 weeks... I'm having a natural mc now... Am I allowed to soak in the tub?  I had so many other more serious questions for my midwife that I forgot to ask.  The tub is my feel good place, and I'm sooooo crampy that I just want to soak for hours...

    I don't know the official answer (talk to your doc for that), but for both of my losses I took baths in the first few weeks.  Not super long ones, but I took them.

    No. It has nothing to do with the D&C itself, it has to do with the miscarriage. You basically have an open wound area in your uterus, and there is a risk for infection. You increase that risk if anything gets in your vagina, including pool/bath wa

    TTC #1 since Sept 2011
    BFP#1 1/31/12. Empty sac discovered 3/5/12. MTX due to location in uterine horn.
    BFP#2 2/27/13. Empty sac confirmed 3/20/13. Mifepristone + cytotec.
    Currently TTA until Fall 2013, waiting for operative hysteroscopy

    Hot water is my feel good place too. I was only told not sex and not tampons. My midwife said nothing about baths. I took one every few days, short ones and I was just careful to drink plenty of water and not over heat myself.

    Thank you Ladies.  I have a retroverted uterus, so I have wicked back/hip pains on top of uterine/cervical cramping.  I am using a heating pad, it just can't be everywhere I need it at once like a bath could. Bummed.

    I would talk to your doc and ask. Baths are my go to stress reliever so I understand. My doc said it was fine. I purposely asked since it wasn't on my discharge instructions.

    I would ask your doctor. For my first loss I had a D&C and went thru the same thing no baths, sex, etc. The second time was natural so my doctor said all of that was fine since I didn't have a surgical procedure. But different doctors do different thi

    Like a few of the PPs, I did not have a D&C and was able to take short baths. I know what you mean about wanting that relaxation! Hope you feel better soon!
