Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Short Naps Suck Vent

DS finally learned how to take a decent nap about 2 months ago. Unfortunately, this week that has flown out the window. I have tried stretching his awake time since he's older, but that doesn't seem to have helped. He took a 30 minute nap this morning and is now screaming his head off. SleepEasy says to leave them in the crib for an hour and do check-ins. What do you do when your kid does this? I haven't even had a shower yet. (CRAP!)

Re: Short Naps Suck Vent

  • I usually just get him out of the crib if he's been up for 10 minutes and won't go back to sleep. Then I try to read his sleepy cues as best as I can and I'll try to put him back down about an hour later if he's clearly super grumpy from not sleeping long

  • Honestly what has worked for me has been to not stick to a schedule. Sometimes she needs a nap at 9am, sometimes 11am. Sometimes she gets a nap at home and sometimes its in her carrier/stroller while we are out and on a bad day I take a nap with her. Also
