Curly hair people

I'm getting my hair cut on Friday and I always fear having it done. My hair is super long, like, touches my butt when wet, so I'm looking forward to losing some length.

I plan to keep it past my shoulders, but I always get confused on when they ask if I want layers. Layers make it more poofy right, I don't think I want that.

And my husband always says, "you just need to get it thinned out."  I think he pictures someone cutting strands of hair off at the scalp. How am I supposed to get it thinned out?

  • They have some sort of thinning shears that they've used on me in the past, but I didn't love the results. My hair is not super thick, and somewhere between wavy and curly, and layers work really well on me. When I don't have many layers I tend to get pyr

  • My hair is somewhere between wavy and curly. I always have layers cut. My hair is pretty thick and it just doesn't lay right if it's all one length. I also alternate between straightening my hair and wearing it curly, so I try to get a cut that will work

  • My hair is also between wavy and curly. I have thick hair and do long layers. That seems to be the cut that makes it sit the best.
