I'm getting my hair cut on Friday and I always fear having it done. My hair is super long, like, touches my butt when wet, so I'm looking forward to losing some length.
I plan to keep it past my shoulders, but I always get confused on when they ask if I want layers. Layers make it more poofy right, I don't think I want that.
And my husband always says, "you just need to get it thinned out." I think he pictures someone cutting strands of hair off at the scalp. How am I supposed to get it thinned out?
Re: Curly hair people
You need to go to someone who knows how to cut curly hair. You probably do want layers, but they need to be done right in accordance to your curl pattern. Whether you want thinning depends on your hair.
naturallycurly.com is a great resourc
Ditto the other ladies. Long layers work best unless you are going super short, which I do out of desperation once every few years, LOL. If you keep it all one length, or too close to all one length, the weight pulls the curl out of the top of the hair
