Hi all, I hope I can post here even though my DD is not a preemie. She is having feeding issues and thought I might get more help here since they are more often seen in early babies.
We had a traumatic birth and DD was stuck and had some issues with her neck and suck swallow reflex. Basically she does not latch onto things by reflex at all and has reflux and aspirates even tiny amounts in a dropper. We tried bottles for weeks with no luck and now she has oral aversion. I am supposed to try thickened feeds on her and she gets so distressed. I just wondered if anyone has dealt with swallow, aversion out thickened feedings and had any insight. I have to go back to work soon and am terrified that she will be even more emotionally wrecked and starved when I am gone. :
