  We live in suburbia, but our backyard is a corn field. My family owns a dairy farm 30 min away and DH's family lives 45 min away in the country as well so we kind of have the best of both worlds.

  This is all so interesting.  Agreed -- NYC living and cost is definitely part, but not all, of our being OAD.  I do really love all the activities I can take him to though -- I just signed him up for swimming lessons within a ten minute

  I live in the boonies. I technically live within city limits of our town (population 4100), but we have 4 traffic lights. And a Walmart. I love it. The schools are great, the air is clean, and we live close to the beach.

  We live in the burbs/work in the city.

  I wish we lived in the city to be closer to work. The commute is really hard on all of us and the schools in our 'hood suck anyway, so as long as we have to do private I'd rather live in the city.
