Is it bad that....

My daughter still has her days and nights mixed up and I haven't done a thing to try and sort then out yet? She's four weeks old today. I feel guilty because both dh and I are naturally night people, I'm used to working 12 hour shifts overnight. So needles to say I'm not exactly struggling haha. Plus she's an angel! She loves her sleep just like mama! She sleeps a lot in general so it's not like she doesn't sleep at all at night.

Help me get rid of this mama guilt! Is it all that bad that we're just goin with her flow? We're on her schedule and we do what she wants when she wants. Should I be starting to try and reverse her schedule?

  • I think it's pointless to try to schedule anything before 12-ish weeks. I wouldn't worry too much.

  • With my first, I didn't bother with "bedtime" until nearly midnight and we'd both sleep past 10. My DH worked nights and I'd often wait up for him.

We did eventually start moving her bedtime to a more "normal" bedtime, but she was several months

  • Honestly, we've been trying really hard and she still goes to bed for the night when she wants. Sometimes it's 8, sometimes 11. We obviously shoot for 8 every night but I'm not freaking out yet that she isn't getting it right every night.
