Babies: 6 - 9 Months

New, earlier bed time

The girls got their 6 month shots last Friday and ever since then, they have been ready to go down for the night at 7 p.m. And I mean, they are having major tired meltdowns! Normally they go to bed between 8 and 9. They're not waking any earlier than usual and no MOTN wakings. I'm wondering if there's a correlation between the shots and the new bed time, or if it's a phase, or just a coincidence. Anyone have a similar experience after 6 month shots?

  • How many days?  We had two days of lots of sleep - and then she went RIGHT into her 6 months growth spurt which lasted two weeks (At least I'm hoping that last night wasn't a fluke and we are done... :) )

  • Probably a growth spurt

    OR

they are tuckering themselves out because of their new abilities to sit, roll, almost crawl etc. At least Im assuming they are starting to become more mobile as thats pretty typical around 6 months.

  • My LO was pretty feverish after his 6 mos. so he slept more than usual.  I think it was the flu shot that they added. He actually did change his bed time - to later by 30 mins., all well. His naps have not gotten any better as all he wants to do

  • Shots definitely wear them out, but I also think that earlier bedtimes are better for babies.  That's what my doctor has always told me, and that's what has worked best for my babies.  Obviously, it's way more inconvenient for working parents, e
