Framed Baby Carrier backpack....

Hi, I'm coming over for a quick post from the 9-12 month board with a question. DH and I had planned to make a 10+day long trip to the U.P. of michigan this summer so I had ordered a framed backpack kid carrier. While the darn thing was in shipment to the house we decided that it would probably be better to wait until he is a bit older to go on that kind of trip. So now I have the pack, and I'm trying to find reasons to keep it rather than ship it back.

So, can you tell me what you all do as far as activities, places to visit, ways to use the pack so that I can either justify keeping it, or if it would be better to send it back. If it was just an $80 carrier I wouldn't be so on the fence about it, but it is a $250 carrier and if we aren't going to use it I could spend the money on other things for the peanut. TIA ladies!
