Anyone With Piercings...?

I?ll try to keep it short?about a year ago I had the tops of my ears pierced with my mine and my husband?s birthstones (cartilage). Shortly after I found out I was pregnant I went and had the long stems switched to shorter ones so they wouldn?t poke me. It?s been about 3 months now, and they still hurt. One has a blister on the back side of the ear. Question: should I go ahead and just have them removed? They don?t seem infected, but they are sore, and it?s still hard to sleep on each side. My worry is obviously, for me, infection. Any thoughts? TIA!

I had an industrial (the bar that connects two cartilage piercings) a long time ago and it just didn't heal. I took it out.

Diagnosed with Anti little c antibodies. DS1 7.11.11 - Anaemia and Jaundice. 10 days in the NICU, 1 exchange transfusion and 4 blood transfusions. DS2 29.8.13 - Anaemia 7 days in the NICU and 1 exchange transfusion. Both are now happy and healthy.
