bleeding after cervix check

So at my appointment today doc. checked my cervix. I was half a centimeter dilated and boy did this check hurt. When I sat up I was cramping really bad. Then blood gushed out onto the bed and sheet. Now I am wearing a pad for the bleeding and cramping really bad. Ugh. It's like having a period again! I have been cramping the past hour now.

It also looked like some tissue or something weird came out with the bleeding. Ewe! I know some bleeding is normal with a cervix check, but this was the first time I have bled at all. Now I keep getting braxton hicks and the cramping won't quit. Is it possible her cervix check could send me into labor?

    Since I am a FTM, I am not sure if they can send you into labor or if the check is directly affiliated with having BH. However, I have had my cervix checked three times over the last three weeks (last time was 4 cm dilated) and I bleed every. single. t

    Bleeding is not uncommon especially since you weren't dilated much. Make sure you are resting and drinking lots of water. That should help the cramps.

    I'm not sure about that, I guess anything is possible. What did your OB say about the blood squirting onto the table? I'd call someone if your to concerned.

    I think I was just shocked at the amount of blood. I always imagined just having pink tinged tp when I wiped or something after a check. I never imagined period like stuff. lol. I am sure I am just freaking out a bit being a FTM. She said if I kept bleedi

    I didn't bleed...but OMG did I cramp afterwards.

    I bled after a cervix check in my second trimester but it was just spotting.  The fact that you have to wear a pad sounds worrisome to me...and combined with the cramping, I'd be concerned too.

    I just asked about this at my appointment today because I was curious as to whether I am dilated or making any progress.  They told me they'd like to hold off on any checks until 39 weeks as it can start contractions (she didn't say labor but implied

    I think you should cAll or go in. I had bleeding too, my dr said if it lasts a hour/ need a pad to go in. Good luck, better safe than sorry!
