NBR: Carpet

We are recarpeting our upstairs.  This is a townhome we hope to turn into a rental when we decide to move.  So going hardwood is not an option.

Any tips on buying carpet?  Things to look for?

Has anyone used Empire Carpet?  They are advertising $99 a room which probably means the quality isn't great, but if they have good pricing I might call them to come quote.

    From what I understand berber is the most industrious. I know that it's not the greatest for pet's nails but can handle the most wear and tear. I know that it has come a long way and you can get nice colors or repetitive patterns now.

    Berber is great, durable...however, if you spill something on it, good luck!  It's the worst for cleaning up spots.  There's lots of "loops" for whatever has been spilled/gotten on it to hide it and keeps whicking back up.  I used to w

    Is the tile that looks like hardwood an option?  I've seen it at Home Depot and it is really neat - I saw pics on pinterest too.  For the allergy factor, etc. I would consider that.  If not, I would get a mid-range carpet - especially if yo
