Went to the midwife today. Stripping membranes last Friday did nothing to move things along. I am not having contractions and am walking around 6cm dilated and 80% effaced.
Went into the appt with H afraid I'm going to literally pop at any moment and not wanting me left alone and me sure my body is defective and I'll have to be induced.
I was right. Midwife set up 6am induction for tomorrow.
I can't have an epi due to spinal issues and am terrified that if the need for c-section arises they'll have to knock me out. I desperately wanted a totally med-free birth, but mw said she was going to try a low dose of pit to start the ball rolling. She said once the contractions get moving, they can take me off the pit and I can get in the tub.
She said I was welcome to refuse the induction, but strongly urged me to consider it.
I want to have my girl in my arms, but I'm so torn! I'm praying for a miracle.

As long as you and baby are fine, I'd hold off on induction until you're at least 41 weeks. It sounds like your body just needs a little more time.
However, if you do opt to go for the induction, hopefully it only takes a small does of meds
Her main concern is me being so dilated without contractions or anything. She said three possibilities exist:
1. Everything is fine, I start having contractions and we have a baby in due time.
2. I go into labor (water breaks or reg c
I'm confused as to why she would even bring up cord prolapse - it's so rare. Do you have any risk factors that could lead to it actually happening? It seems like as long as baby is pretty much engaged (which it should be if you're that dila
I don't see a compelling reason to induce for that; cord prolapse is a risk for all births. I would probably ask to wait another week, and agree to come in as soon as you start having contractions as you realize it will probably be a short labour.

OK, that makes sense, then. Ugh, this is a tricky situation! I'm sorry you have to make this decision. There always has to be some terrifying element, doesn't there?
Could you get a second opinion or talk to a local doula or hom

I went into labor 6 hours before I was supposed to be induced - don't give up, it could happen!
Have you tried pumping/nipple stimulation? I had been doing everything to go into labor, including acupuncture for weeks, but it was after a 20
We tried nipple stimulation and bouncing on the ball to get my 10 min apart nonpai
