Success after IF

My Betas Stopped Doubling *update, kinda*

So my last draw was 2,015 and the one from today only came back at only 3,251.  The draws were done 48 hours apart.

My OB draws A LOT of betas, and I remember they eventually stopped doubling with my son but I looked back and that didn't happen until they went from 11,355 to 17,857.  When I called the office freaking out they told me that betas stop doubling eventually and obviously everything turned out fine that time around.

It seems to me like they shouldn't have stopped doubling this early.  I'm really bummed.

Re: My Betas Stopped Doubling *update, kinda*

  • My RE won't draw betas after 1500 because he says past that it doesn't matter. When is your U/s? Sorry you are stressed. Rising numbers are a great sign that things are still going well. Huge hugs...waiting is the pits.

  • I think this is a case of too much information. It is making you fret when you shouldn;t need to.

The numbers between DS2 and this baby were vastly different, but even with super low betas, DS2 still resulted in a healthy baby.

I had a similar situation with my first son.  My 2nd beta was less than 1.5x the first one and they didn't have high hopes.  But then my 3rd beta doubled, and the baby ended up being fine.  They said it was unusual but happens.
