Share a room or not?

My son will be 18 months when the baby is born. We now have his room and a toy room. I'm not sure what will be the best decision. Do I let them share a room to keep the toy room or give them their individual rooms and lose the toy room? What would you do?

  • If it were me I would lose the toy room.

  • We share. They are 13 months apart. Dd2 moved in with dd1 when she, dd2, was just over a year.

  • I've been contemplating the same thing. I think I might have them in their own rooms til the new baby is old enough to sleep really well, might even wait til they are about 18 months ish??
  • DS has a play room and a bedroom. We're going to lose the play room. But DS is 10 and I think he needs his own space. He wouldn't want to share a room with a newborn.

  • I have 3 boys in one room and the toys in the other. Works great!

  • I don't recommend it.  I have had friends do it and it did not look enjoyable.  I think after the baby is 2, it would easier and at that age a play room might be more useful.  Before then it might caus

  • I am torn on whether or not to have them share. All our bedrooms are so close that I think DD sleep will be disturbed either way. We currently have a guest room and my mom visits from out of town often to help out with DD when I need to work. Dh wants to

  • We are moving DS to the guest room and baby will inherit his nursery.  When they get older we will possibly have them share a room so we will get a guest room back (our families all live at least 2 hours away) but for the next two or so years they

  • My kids will be sharing a room after 5 or 6 months. We live in a two bedroom condo, so that's just the way it is. They will be 26 months a part. I know quite a few people whose children share rooms and they've all made it work.

  • Ours will be sharing a room.  If we had another bedroom we probably wouldn't have them share, but our house is 2 bedroom.  We could make it 3, but then our room would be 2 floors away from the kids and we're not fans of that idea.  Maybe

  • Definitely share. Our girls share a room, but we have no toy room, so their toys are all in their room. Half the nights when they go to bed, they don't go to sleep because all those toys are in there just calling to them! If it were up to me, they'd only
