water shoes at beach for 20 mo old

We are going to the beach for a week in June and DS will be 20 months old. Do I need to get him some water shoes for the beach and pool? If so, any advice on the best ones?

    I would just for traction in the pool and for protecting their feet from rocks/shells/etc at the beach.  We just grab whatever we find at Walmart, Target, wherever.

    Same as PP.  Sand gets hot, and shells hurt!  Cheapies at Target or Walmart will work just fine.

    In search of these currently. WIll try target as they have had them in previous years. Getting DS ones from the children's place this year but didn't see the same in DD's small size.

    I got cheap ones at Walmart for $5 and they work perfectly for the pool!
