Once LO rolls over

Hello! I am new to this board as my son just turned 3 months Monday. My son rolled tummy to back at 5 weeks, but has only a handful of times since; i dont think they were purposeful rolls. For the past week he has been arching in his crib, and yesterday started rolling back to stomach non stop. Now I keep finding him on his stomach sleeping, is this ok? I stopped swaddling a few weeks ago because he was breaking out of them. I'm a ftm so I just wanted to see what you all were doing once your LOs started to roll. Thanks, any advice is appreciated!

Re: Once LO rolls over

  • Always put your LO to sleep on his back. If he rolls onto his tummy that's okay just check on him often.

  • Yes he always goes down on his back! Thank you!
  • DS rolled back to tummy just before he turned 4 months.  No matter how hard we tried, he just would not stay on his back.  There was nothing we could do, except to check on him often during the first week when he started doing this.

  • If they can roll it's fine to let them sleep on their tummy. They can get there anyway so it's not like you can do anything.

  • Once they can roll, there isn't much you can do safely to prevent it!  Just place him in his crib on his back, and if he rolls so be it.  If he is lifting his head well during tummy time, I wouldn't be too concerned about it.  Mine just wen
