Ideas to entertain DS

DH is having surgery on his wrist on Thursday.  We will leave the house at 4:30 AM.  The girls will spend the night with my parents, but there is not room for three seats in my mom's car, so we will have DS with us.  The hospital that had availablility to do this is about as far from where we live as it can be and still be in the same metro area.

We will get there and DH will go back for prep at 6:00.  Surgery is at 7:30.  He will be cleared to go home by 10:00.  I assume I will be able to go back with him around 9:30?

I am dreading entertaining DS.  I mapped a playground that is very close, and hope for decent weather.  Thinking we can hang out in the waiting room (or if DS is still asleep drive around) until the cafe on site opens at 7.  Eat....then head to the playground around 8...then back for when DH wakes up.  Other ideas?  The idea of being in a waiting room for 4 hours gives me hives.

    I guess it depends on what your DS is into.  Skyler loves blocks and between that, a TV and maybe some books she would be very happy with those things.  The park could easily get me an hour of entertainment.  Is there a Wal Mart or somethin

    DH takes a cab to the surgical center

    I drop DS at 6 AM at DC

    My mom comes over and takes the girls
