Eating his crib?

I really don't know if this is the right board for this, but have any of your kids tried to eat their crib? Greyson has taken the finish and a chunk of wood off the end of his. It's non toxic, but still, eating wood doesn't seem ideal. Any suggestions?

  • Both of my kids have.I think they make plastic rails that go over them, but we never needed to. The novelty wore off after a few days.

  • DD1 had a night when she teethed on the rail.  We put the plastic guards on the next day.  Since DD2 inherited the same crib, this time I made some fabric rail covers (to hide the old marks and prevent new ones).

  • Every child I've ever known has done this. My sisterinlaw sews and she made the fabric covers for my niece's crib, but you can buy plastic covers now also.
