Does anyone have the Cosco Apt 40 RF car seat? I'm trying to find safety reviews on it but am having trouble coming up with anything other than basic specs.
There is a program (I think it might be national) called safekids.org that will provide and install this car seat for a $25 donation. (it's $60 or so retail). I'd like to take advantage of the program but wanted to get some insight on the seat also.
I did read that it goes up to 40 lbs, so I guess after that we will need to get another seat for over 40 lbs. I am not great at figuring out how much a kid should weigh by what age. All I know is he is 25 1/2 lbs at 15 months, but he is now too long for his infant seat so we need to make a decision here fast.
Thanks for any insight you may have!

Re: Cosco 40 RF car seat anyone?
I think I have this one and it's perfectly fine. I'd definitely go for it, especially for only $25!
And my 3.5 year old daughter is 36 pounds. The seat may very well last until he is big enough for a booster.

DS has been in this seat since he outgrew his infant seat. He's been perfectly fine in it, even though it doesn't have a bunch of padding or anything. We did a lot of driving over the holidays, and he was fine. I like that it has the cupholders, but th
