I live in a townhouse and there's a field between our street and our row. There are woods behind us and at the far end of our row. I'm the second unit in and the house to my left has a field with a small stand of trees and the court next to mine is on the other side.
I was down the street with neighbors and E and some kids were in the field between the two courts. We see a little boy come out of the woods on one side of my row with an old woman following him screaming at him to tell her his name and where he lives. We weren't sure what to do but they were walking towards where our kids were so we kind of followed them.
They walk into the stand of trees and the woman picks up a huge tree branch! At that point we all yelled and she turned around and started saying that the kid had been writing on her car and she was going to hit him if he didn't tell her who he was. At that point I asked her who SHE was and where she lived to which she replied "It's none of your business"
We got the kid away from her and she kept ranting so we told her we were calling the cops on her. She started walking away so we walked down to someone's house so they could call the kids parents. I have seen the kid before and knew there was something off about him. It turns out he lives on our street with his very elderly grandmother who explained there's something wrong with him and she's just recently started letting him out alone because she can't really play with him anymore.
It turns out he was playing with a little girl who was touching this woman's car and when the woman came outside she let the little girl go but had been following him for awhile in the woods behind my house. We think she may have hit him then. The girl and the woman were both white and the boy was black.
And no my neighborhood is not normally this crazy. My next door neighbor still hasn't been caught but their clean up crew has almost completely moved them out.

And yes, I know. Violence is no solution. But it feels very good.
