Loss of a loved one...affect the baby??

Hi all, though this is my second LO I experianced a great loss over the weekend. My aunt of only 66 passed away in her sleep of a heart attack. The last time I was preggo I lost my grandfather but it was not a surprise. Has anyone else experianced something like this while preggo and if so, what affect did it have on the baby? Right now I think LO is fine and I'm going to the doc on Thurs for a regular check up. Just thought I'd ask the group.

    I'm sorry for your loss.  It shouldn't affect your baby unless you start experiencing severe depression, anxiety, or change in eating and sleeping habits.

    I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost both of my grandfathers this pregnancy within a month of each other. It was a really hard time for me, but it didnt affect the baby.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I wouldn't think it'd affect your unborn baby at all (unless you were having a lot of depression/anxiety etc etc) but if you are referring to your almost 3 year old, then you can always ask her pedi about it. That is still ver

    Aug/Sept 2010 - CD3&10 b/w & u/s, genetic testing, SA, HSG, & Lap/Hyst to remove septum

    12/09/10 BFP -- 7/05/11 DS born at 33w5d. Came home after 23d in NICU at 37w0d

    June 2012 - TTC #2! -- 10/05/12 BFP --  5/23/13 DS2 born at 37w1d! Yay full term!

    Surprise BFP 6/25/14 LO#3 due Feb2015!

    We unexpectedly and very tragically lost DH's dad when I was 37 weeks pregnant with DS.  It sucked, but we all dealt with it and DS was not affected.

    I lost two people close to me last week and it was extremely stressful on me. It's made my blood pressure shoot up and now I have to do my blood pressure twice a day for the rest of the pregnancy.

    It's tough but i can say i'm doing much better n

    I lost my father when I was 18 weeks pregnant with my first. I cried and was quite emotional the rest of the pregnancy, but DD ended up fine. I am sorry to hear of your loss.
