Stuck in the crib

This past week my 18 month old DD has started sticking her legs through the side of the crib before nap time and getting stuck. She never did this before! I've tried sticking blankets through the bars to block her, but she just pulls them out. I hate to switch to sleeping in the pack n play. I'm thinking of getting a breathable bumper to stack with the regular one as a block. Any thoughts or advice? I'm at a loss right now!

Re: Stuck in the crib

  • My baby did this for about a week and then just stopped. I looked into the mesh bumpers but after reading reviews we choose not to. I guess a lot of babies use them as a stepping stool to climb out of the crib.

  • Try putting her in a sleep sack.

  • DD2 did that from about 13-14 months. She was doing it to avoid falling asleep. She would get her chubby little legs so stuck that she would get bruises sometimes. There wasn't anything I could do to stop it.

  • Well I bought a breathable bumper last night to stack with the other bumper. It has worked so far! No incidents since yesterday afternoon! I hope it keeps working!!
