I am looking into transitioning my family on to a more raw food based diet. Thinking like 50% raw food to begin with. I have two things kind of pressing on me about this, and was hoping if we have any raw foodies, they could help.
First, DS has only 6.5 (haha) teeth right now, and giving him raw, hard veggies makes me so so so nervous, because he doesn't really have the ability to chew them properly. I'm thinking carrots, celery, that type of texture. Is there a way to soften the food without loosing the nutritional benefits of it being raw? Juicing is an option to a degree, but this boy LOOOOVES to eat, if I were to hand him a sippy for lunch, things would go south real quick.
Also, I've been looking up meal plans, and it just seems like so much freaking food! Here's an example of one I'm looking at:
Menu 3
Breakfast: 1 honeydew melon
Lunch: 10 oranges
Dinner: 10 oz baby greens, 2 stalks celery, 2 cups grape tomatoes, 1 ounce cashews, 1 cup carrots.
Snack: Smoothie with 3 bananas, 2 cups pineapple.
A whole honeydew??? 10 Oranges??? Like for real, I just can't imagine sitting down and eating 10 oranges. Has anybody else found a more sane whole, raw food diet guide?
Thank you!
Re: Raw food?
Exactly! I feel like I would literally need to eat from dawn
Lucia can eat raw cucumber, and I've given her raw peppers before. But not carrots, or celery. I'm not sure she'd be able to

Not dumb! I watch "Hungry For
This must be the new "it" thing. Seems a little odd to me, but to each their own!
As for steaming without water...are you opposed to microwaving? I just put stuff in a ziploc bag and pop it in the microwave...mostly just somethin
That is quite the menu!
For feeding raw foods like carrots to your LO, try shredding them using a box shredder. The pieces are small enough for them to eat, but big enough for them to still pick up.
