I was diagnosed with pcos last summer after two miscarriages. I went on 1000 mg of metformin to get pregnant. Ironically I had no problem getting pregnant or sustaining the pregnancies with my two older children. I was wondering how anyone else on here who had pcos plans on managing their pcos once they have the baby. We are finished after this one and my husband is getting snipped. I know birth control is supposed to help manage pcos but I do not want to go back on it at all!!! I have been on it for so many years and gave tried do many different types that I have come to the conclusion my busy was not made for it. I get terribly depressed on it and my migraines are ten times worse on it. I don't know if there are any long term side effects to taking metformin for an extended period if time if you are not a diabetic??? How are any if you who have pcos planning on managing it after baby?

I took Met for a year and I really don't like the way it makes me feel. My cycles were no more regular and I didn't lose weight.
I also don't like hormonal birth control.
My plan is to eat a lower GI diet (once BFing is well established) a
