Babies: 3 - 6 Months

DD went from STTN to up every few hours...???

DD started STTN around 3 months then all of a sudden, she's up every few hours at night. She's eating 4 1/2-5 oz every 3 1/2-4 hours during the day, which is perfect for her weight. Before bed, she's eating a 6-7 oz bottle with rice in it! Our bedtime routine hasn't changed..I don't know what going on. I know it's "part of being a baby", but I really thought we were making progress! It doesn't seem like the last time she went through a growth spurt. Maybe 4 month wakeful..I don't know. I have noticed when I get up she's broken out of her swaddle. I just purchased a Merlin's magic sleepsuit to try and transition from swaddling. Any tips/suggestions?

  • Sleep regressions happen every so often and yes they are very disappointing. I know it feels like a step backwards, but it probably won't last long. Whether it's teething, a growth spurt, or hitting a milestone- it is just a phase and will pass in a fe

  • DD did the same thing. I think it makes getting up ever couple hours even more difficult knowing that she was sleeping 7-8 hours two weeks ago!
  • Alexis has started doing this too.  I wouldn't mind it as much if she would go to sleep earlier, even just an hour.

  • I was just going to post this same question. I got a total of 3 hours of sleep between DD2 crying and waking up, and DD1 waking up to her sister screaming her head off. She is eating like crazy so I am thinking mine is a growth spurt, but it's frustrating

  • This kind of makes me glad DS has never slept through the night. I don't worry about a 4 month wakeful because he's been waking up every few hours all along. My body has just adjusted to only getting around 3 hours of sleep a night, not too sure about my

  • At least I'm not the only one! My SO is pretty good about getting up with her too so it's not as bad as it could be, but I did get spoiled to getting lots of sleep there for a couple weeks. It's just so frustrating to never know what's going on. Welcome t

  • It could be so many things! Sleep regression, growth spurt, milestone development, etc. We have also been dealing with little sleep but H never slept through the entire night. Oh well, he is happy and healthy otherwise. I tell myself it doesn't last forev

  • My DD just turned 3 months and she was STTN for weeks. Once she hit 3 months she stopped. It's been a rough few nights. I hope she gets back to it soon. And of course I just went back to work too.
  • IMO the best thing to do is expect nothing from schedules and routines, especially when it has to do with sleep. Changing your baby's eating habits, etc will not dictate sttn. As pp said, there will always be something throwing them off for a few days, ma
